Trail Report - (406)862-7669

Hi folks. Donnie's a Dad now so I'm posting this on his behalf until he returns. Congrats Papa!

The Summit Trail is 100% clear of snow! Trail projects are underway so use caution. There are trail crews doing work, so please be aware of them when riding the summit trail. Soft portions of trail are present where the trail has recently been widened, and at certain switchbacks that have been recently maintained. The trail is riding very well, and offers some fantastic vistas of the flathead.

Other trails are riding well, too. Here's what's open and ready to ride:
Around the Village:
Summit Trail
Dave's Dive
Dual Slalom
Tenderfoot
Badrock
Borealis
Skills Park
Bike Jumps at The Depot

Around The Base Lodge
Gopher
Gopher Too
Badger
Beaver
Cedar Bridge
Cedar View
Valley View
Pine View
Wolverine

If you're wondering what to ride right now, here are some suggestions –

For Advanced riders, take the summit trail down to the Skills Park. Play in there for a while, then take Dave’s Dive down to the Jumps at the Depot. For more fun, try Dave's Dive to the Dual Slalom, to the Depot Jumps to the Biker Cross that begins just below Chair One. Tons of fun!

For Intermediate Riders, take the Summit Trail all the way down. On your second ride, take Home Again after the first 4 miles of the Summit Trail, and then Borealis back up to the Village.

For Beginner Riders, take Tenderfoot and Gopher to explore the mountain and get comfortable on your mountain bike before heading to more challenging terrain.

The big news about biking this year is the installation of the new "Downhill Trail". This 'freeride' style trail will be geared towards upper intermediate riders and will provide a better and more fun ride than anywhere else in the state of Montana. Construction begins late July, look for it to open early August.

Also, a new beginner bike trail, connecting the village and plaza will has begun construction. this provides a progression of trails, as well as some good fun for beginner riders.

Walk In the Trees- Our most unique summer activity is open for business. Two tours leave from the Plaza area every day, at 9:30am and 1pm. The cost is only 54$ for a fun and informative naturalist based tour that provides outstanding views from up to 70ft in the forest canopy. There is a .5 mile walk to and from the elevated structure, focusing on local flora and fauna. More details online, or call 406-862-2900. Disc Golf - Disc Golf is open!!! Just follow red arrows starting just east of the bottom of Chair One. To access the bottom 9 below the baselodge, follow the orange arrows once you are at the magic carpet.

Bike Academy has begun. TNRL starts next week!!!

If you haven't tried out the awesomeness yet, it's time to check out the Google Earth placemark with all our summer trails, disc golf hole layout, activities and more on our maps page.
